Tomorrow is national Dump the Pump day.
The day is designed to encourage people to get out of their cars and ride public transportation to raise awareness of the financial and environmental benefits of public transportation. Public transportation has the ability to save people money, conserve gasoline, and reduce the harmful greenhouse gases emitted into our environment.
On June 19, public transit agencies from coast to coast will join together to encourage their communities to dump the pump by leaving their cars at home and riding public transportation
Also tomorrow is the last day to give public comment on Sound Transit's ballot expansion plans. Make sure to go there and give your opinion if you haven't. I've told them I want light rail at least to Overlake.

To heck with Overlake. They should put to the ballot whatever variant polls the best.
Passing something along the lines of ST2 is much more important than the content of the actual measure.
I agree, but I put that in the comment because I want it. I'd vote for a measure that added just one station even.
I would vote for anything that built to Northgate, or Bellevue, or even just S. 200th (okay, within reason).
How about they make all mass transit free for that day?
I would dump my pump for that...
Seattle Light Rail needs a better name besides "LINK". Maybe they should name the light rail the Seattle Metro or something that conveys a sense of "fast and reliable" like the "MAX" in Portland. Here's a great name, Ride the "SMART" (Seattle Metropolitan Area Rapid Transit) train.
"Link"ing portions of the region sounds pretty good to me.
I think seeing how people refer to it in the first year or two will be interesting. It's silly to claim we need to rename something that people haven't even been exposed to yet!
